A Russian military base is reported to have caught fire. This is reported by Igor Sushko on the short message service X, formerly known as Twitter.
He writes: “Russia: A military base in Valuyki is in flames, Belgorod region.” He posts a video that is supposed to prove the statement. It shows a recording that was presumably taken from a moving car at night. In the distance, flames are visible. Sushko does not provide further details about the possible extent and damage in the post. Belgorod is a Russian region located close to the border with Ukraine.
These statements have not yet been independently verified and/or confirmed. For this reason, they should be considered with caution. In war, it can be advantageous for conflicting parties to deliberately spread misinformation to strengthen their own position or weaken that of the opponent.
