ISW: Russian soldiers advance

According to the U.S.-based think tank Institute for the Study of War, both Ukraine and Russia have made advances in several areas, as reported by the German news platform n-tv.de.

ISW’s analysis suggests that Ukrainian forces were able to gain more ground on Sunday in the Zaporizhzhia region. Citing imagery, ISW states that Ukraine has had limited successes north of Novoprokopivka. A Russian military blogger also claims that Ukrainian troops are advancing near Kopani. However, ISW also reports on territorial gains by the Russian forces. Russian troops have advanced in multiple areas, including the fiercely contested city of Bakhmut, Makiivka, in the Luhansk region, and along the Donetsk-Avdiivka line.

Operations of both parties are being hindered by deteriorating weather conditions. Russian drone and flight activities, among others, have decreased in recent days due to bad weather. Russian military bloggers explain that both Ukrainian and Russian offensive operations are being impacted.
