ISW: Ukraine advances on two fronts

The Institute for the Study of Wars (ISW) has reported that Ukrainian forces are continuing their counteroffensive near Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast, as well as in the western region of Zaporizhzhya.

Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar stated that successes have already been recorded in the direction of Bakhmut and Melitopol, as well as in the western area around Zaporizhzhya. Moreover, according to several reports, Ukrainian forces have caught up with Russian soldiers in defensive capabilities. President Volodymyr Zelensky has emphasized that Ukrainian long-range missile production is taking place as part of a coordinated Ukrainian campaign to increase Ukrainian striking power. The ISW also stated that Russian forces continue offensive operations near Bakhmut and have launched an unsuccessful counterattack in the Donetsk Zaporizhzhya oblast border area.

Russia continues to deport children from Ukraine

In addition, the ISW stressed that the Russian occupation authorities would continue to deport Ukrainian children to Russia and Russify Ukrainian youth. This was also reported by n-tv.de. On Thursday, the Kherson Oblast Occupation Administration announced that 18 Ukrainian children had left for a so-called summer camp in Russian Novgorod Oblast. These deportations violate current international law.
