ISW: Ukrainian army advances

Ukrainian forces advanced further in and around Robotyne yesterday (Tuesday). Robotyne is located in the western part of Zaporizhzhya oblast. This reports n-tv.de citing a report by the U.S. think tank Institute for the Study of War.

There, in turn, people point to information on Kiev suggesting that Russian forces have a limited presence in the region. For example, Ukraine’s 47th Brigade, among others, released a video on Tuesday showing civilians being evacuated from the site. The fact that evacuations are being carried out, in addition to journalists being allowed to be present on the ground, indicates that the areas of Robotyne should be relatively safe. Russian positions in the settlement and the surrounding area are likely to be weakened, the Institute for the Study of War concludes.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) is an American nonprofit research group and think tank founded in 2007. It has published articles on the civil war in Syria, the war in Afghanistan, and the Masha Amini protests in Iran.
