Kyiv Celebrates: 400 Russian Soldiers and 12 Tanks Defeated in Avdiivka Battles

According to Ukrainian military sources, Russian troops have once again made several attack attempts towards the eastern Ukrainian city of Avdiivka. This was reported by the German news website n-tv.de.

As a result, over 400 Russian soldiers were reportedly killed and twelve armored vehicles were destroyed, as announced by the commander responsible for this section of the front, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, in a Telegram message. The Russian attacks, supported by fighter aircraft and artillery, were successfully repelled.

Ukraine has been dealing with a Russian invasion for over 20 months, and the frontline near Avdiivka has been established since 2014 against the separatist forces supported by Moscow. Currently, the heavily destroyed city is surrounded by Russian troops on three sides.

These statements have not yet been independently verified or confirmed. Therefore, they should be treated with caution. In war, it can be advantageous for the parties in conflict to deliberately spread false information to strengthen their own position or weaken that of the opponent.

High Losses in the Last Three Weeks

According to British military experts, Russia has lost an estimated 200 armored vehicles in the battles for the eastern Ukrainian city of Avdiivka in the last three weeks alone, as reported by the German news platform ZDF. This information was published in the daily intelligence report of the Ministry of Defense in London on Saturday.

This high loss is presumably attributed to a combination of factors, including the relative effectiveness of Ukrainian anti-tank missiles, mines, drones, and precision artillery, as was explained in the official statement. Similar to the Ukrainians during their offensive in the summer, Russian forces have therefore shifted to infantry attacks.
