North Korea supports Putin in war: “Always together in the fight against imperialism”

North Korean ruler Kim Jong-un is visiting Russia and has met Russian President Vladimir Putin, among others. Topics could include possible arms deliveries from North Korea to Russia.

According to information from the German news website tagesschau.de and a report by the Interfax news agency, Kim Jon-un used his visit to pledge his country’s support to the Russian president in the war of aggression against Ukraine. At the meeting at the Vostochny spaceport, Kim says, “We have always and will continue to support all of Putin’s decisions and decisions of the Russian government. I hope we will always be together in the fight against imperialism and in building a sovereign state.”

The visit to the spaceport is not coincidental: North Korea is showing great interest in rocket technology and is trying to expand its presence in space, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Russia has been waging an illegal war of aggression against Ukraine since 2014. Moscow escalated it further in February 2022.
