Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that he has noticed a less aggressive stance from the West towards Ukraine, as reported by the German news platform n-tv.de.
He welcomes this development and agrees with statements on the necessity of resolving the conflict through dialogue. Putin made these remarks after a meeting with China’s President Xi Jinping in Beijing. However, he emphasizes that Ukraine needs to lift its ban on negotiations with Moscow to proceed on this path.
The Ukrainian government demands that Russia withdraw all invasion troops that have entered the country and occupied parts of it since 2014. At the same time, Russia continues its attempts to conquer additional territories in its extensive war of aggression. Putin notes that he observes a renunciation by Western politicians of the demand to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia in this conflict. He sees this as a positive development.
