Russia attacks Kyiv – but Putin’s attack turns into a total failure

Once again Russia has attacked the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. More than ten Russian drones were shot down in a night attack on the city. This is reported by ther German news website n-tv.de and Ukrainian officials in the early morning.

“Groups of drones entered Kyiv simultaneously from several directions. However, all aerial targets – more than ten unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) – were detected and destroyed in time by the forces and means of air defense,” said Serhij Popko, head of the military administration of the city of Kyiv. He spoke of a “flood” of Iranian-made Shahed drones used by Russia. Falling debris hit several buildings, he said.

Ukraine also reported shelling in the Odesa region in the south of the country. According to Ukrainian sources, port facilities and grain storage facilities were targeted by Russia in the attacks. Since pulling out of the grain agreement and attacking the Crimean bridge, Russia has significantly increased its attacks on Ukrainian port and agricultural infrastructure.

This information comes from a party to the conflict and has not yet been independently verified or confirmed. For this reason, they are to be evaluated with reservations.
