According to its own statements, Russia thwarted an alleged Ukrainian attack attempt on the Kerch Bridge overnight, as reported by the German news website n-tv.de.
This bridge connects the annexed peninsula of Crimea to the Russian mainland. According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, Ukrainian forces attempted to attack the bridge using two unmanned boats loaded with explosives.
In addition, Russian forces claimed to have intercepted three Ukrainian missiles near the Crimea peninsula, annexed by Moscow in 2014. “Three enemy missiles heading for Crimea were shot down in the late afternoon in the Kherson region,” announced Vladimir Saldo, the governor appointed by Moscow, on Telegram.
These statements have not yet been verified and/or confirmed by independent parties. Therefore, they should be treated with caution. In war, it can be advantageous for conflicting parties to deliberately spread misinformation to strengthen their own position or weaken the opponent’s.
