Russian ministry sounds the alarm: 300,000-square-meter fire in Russia

Russia is currently fighting a large fire that grew in size last night. This is reported by the media project NEXTA via the Network X, formerly Twitter.

In a first update NEXTA writes: “A large fire has been reported in the Gelendzhik area. The area of the fire is fifty thousand square meters, reports the Ministry of Emergency Management. The strong wind contributes to the rapid spread of the fire. 195 people and 45 units are involved in extinguishing the fire. To extinguish the fire, a helicopter Mi-8 participates, but its work is prohibited at night. For this reason, the fire is now extinguished manually, according to an operational employee of Krasnodar region. The administration of Gelendzhik called on local residents to help fight the fire.”

A later update from NEXTA states that the fire has spread to 30 acres. In addition, four videos are posted, which are said to show the extent of the fire.
