UK Ministry of Defense: Ukraine advances in the south

Every day since the escalation of the Russian war against Ukraine, the British Ministry of Defense publishes its assessment of the situation in the conflict. On August 19, 2023, it is about the gains and losses of both sides on the front.

Via X (formerly Twitter), the UK Ministry of Defense writes: “Over the past week, the front line has remained largely unmoved. However, in the south, Ukrainian forces continued their advance along the Mokri Yaly River, securing the village of Urozhaine against fierce Russian resistance.” And further, “In the north, Russian forces continued their probing attacks in the Kupiansk region, but did not make significant progress.

The UK Ministry of Defense classifies, “Across the front, both sides face a similar challenge: they must try to defeat well-entrenched forces but have limited free forces to launch new attacks.”

In Russia, the daily updates from London are considered propaganda.
