British Ministry of Defense: Russia’s defense will be strengthened

Every day since the start of the large-scale Russian war of aggression on Ukraine, the British Ministry of Defense publishes its assessment of the course of the ongoing conflict. Also today, August 3, about the growing brush on the battlefields of southern Ukraine.

Via Twitter, the British Ministry of Defense writes: “The regrowth of undergrowth on the battlefields in southern Ukraine is probably a contributing factor to the generally slow progress of combat operations in the area. The predominantly agricultural land in the combat zone has now lain fallow for 18 months, and the return of weeds and shrubs has accelerated under the warm, humid summer conditions.”

London continues: “The additional cover helps camouflage Russian defensive positions and makes minefield clearing more difficult. Although the scrub can also provide cover for small, covert infantry attacks, it has made it more difficult for either side to advance.”
