In a few hours: Ukraine takes out hundreds of Russian soldiers

Ukraine says it has taken out hundreds of Russian soldiers in a matter of hours. This reports The Kyiv Independent referring to the morning update of the Ukrainian General Staff.

According to the report, Russia has lost 460 soldiers within the last 24 hours. Since the escalation of Russia’s war of aggression in late February 2022, Russia is said to have lost a total of 256,510 soldiers, according to Ukrainian accounts. In addition, there are another 4,332 tanks, 8,410 armed/armored vehicles, 7,658 vehicles and tankers, 5,193 artillery systems, 714 multiple rocket launchers, 486 air defense systems, 315 aircraft, 316 helicopters, 4,276 drones, and 18 boats (as of August 18, 2023).

This information comes from a party to the conflict and has not yet been independently verified and/or confirmed. For this reason, they are to be evaluated with reservations. In war, it may be advantageous for parties to the conflict to make false statements about the course of events in order to strengthen their own position or to weaken the position of the opponent.

Ukraine is keeping quiet about its own losses.
