More than 1,300 buildings were completely destroyed in the Israeli attacks, he said. A mass exodus resulted from the situation.

According to the UN, more than 1,300 buildings have already been completely destroyed. 5,540 housing units were affected, according to the UN Office for Humanitarian Affairs (Ocha). Another 3,750 houses were so badly damaged that they could not be inhabited for the time being.

The background to this enormous destruction is the attack by Hamas, which launched an assault on Israel last Saturday with thousands of rockets as well as ground fighters. According to Israeli sources, more than 1,300 people were killed. In addition, about 150 people were taken from Israel to the Gaza Strip. In response to the large-scale attack, Israel took the Gaza Strip under continuous fire in recent days.
