ISW: Ukraine crosses Russian defense lines

According to the assessment of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukraine has succeeded in a decisive advance in the fight against Russia. This reports the German news website n-tv.de.

According to the report, Ukrainian forces managed to cross the Dnipro River and Russian defense lines in Kherson. They had landed on the eastern bank. However, it is unclear whether Ukraine will succeed in establishing a permanent presence there. Citing Russian war bloggers, the report said Ukrainian troops disembarked on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River near Kosachi Laheri. It is said to be about seven boats. For the head of the Russian-appointed administration, Vladimir Saldo, the reports about the Ukrainian landing on the eastern bank of the Dnipro are of little value. He claims that Russian artillery attacks forced Ukraine to withdraw. ISW writes: “Saldi was probably deliberately trying to refute claims of a Ukrainian presence in the area to avoid panic in the already sensitive Russian information space.”

Kosachi Laheri is a Ukrainian village in Kherson oblast and had about 3,700 inhabitants before the war. It is located in the east of Ukraine.
