The governor of Bryansk in Russia, Alexander Bogomaz, has via Telegram reported that the town of Belaya Beryozka was shelled the night before. He writes:
“The AFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine, ed.) shelled the village of Belaya Beryozka in Trubchevsky district. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties. The shelling partially damaged: several residential buildings, outbuildings, an administrative building, a gatehouse and production facilities of an industrial company, several commercial facilities, and several private vehicles. Emergency personnel and rescue services are responding to the scene.” No casualties have been reported, Bogomaz added.
This information comes from a political side involved in the conflict and has not yet been independently verified and/or confirmed. For this reason, they are to be evaluated with reservations. In war, it can be advantageous for parties to the conflict to deliberately spread false information about the exact course of events in order to strengthen their own position or weaken that of the enemy. Most recently, Russia had repeatedly reported attacks on Bryansk oblast. It is located in western Russia, not far from Ukraine’s northeastern border.
