Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, views US President Joe Biden’s comment in his speech regarding support for Israel and Ukraine as a cynical approach.
In a message on the news app Telegram, she writes that Biden referred to the support of these two countries as “investments,” as reported by the German news website n-tv.de. She argues that historically, wars were considered “smart investments” for the United States because they did not occur on American soil, and the costs were borne by others. In his televised address, Biden had previously stated that supporting the two US allies is a “wise investment that will pay off for the security of the USA over generations.”
New Aid Package from the USA
US President Joe Biden has raised new hopes in Ukraine by announcing his intention to request a comprehensive aid package from the US Congress, which will benefit this country under attack by Russia and Israel. In one of his rare addresses from the Oval Office to the nation on Thursday evening, Biden stated that the United States would not allow terrorists like Hamas or tyrants like Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin to emerge victorious. He emphasized in his 15-minute address that it is of the utmost importance to support the two allies, Israel and Ukraine, also due to the United States’ own national security interests, as reported by the German news platform faz.net.
